Art as a Carrier of Faith at the Art Institute of Chicago has become a favorite program for our members and is one of the Patrons’ most successful events. Our most recent gathering was held on Thursday, December 5, 2019. The highlight of the evening was the magnificent Neopolitan Crèche. Dr. Jacquelyn Coutré, Eleanor Wood Prince Associate Curator of European Painting and Sculpture before 1750, began the presentation sharing the artistic and historical viewpoint of the Crèche, followed by Reverend Louis J. Cameli, Archbishop Delegate for Formation and Mission in the Archdiocese of Chicago at Holy Name Cathedral, and John Shea, theologian, who shared their theological perspectives. A wine and cheese reception was held afterwards at Terzo Piano.
