Pledged in 2012
Regarding the restoration, the first step consisted of fixing the back of the wood painting with the insertion of wood pieces where the cracks or bugs required a filling.
The restorer used the same kind of wood (poplar wood) as the original panel for the insertions. After this first step was completed, Alesi worked on a new support system which is going to be placed on the back of the painting. This system requires flexing bars of beech wood. This new support will adjust to the movements of the wood (caused by temperature and humidity), sustaining the wood panel and avoiding further cracks and damages. This piece was pledged in 2012 and completed.
